Best High-Yield Savings Accounts
Rate is the headline. Deposit protection, access terms and bonus expiry decide the outcome.
Last updated: 2026-08-11
Savings rates move constantly, which is exactly why an unverified rate table is worse than none. Wallcrest publishes a rate only with its source and the date we checked it.
Two accounts at the same rate are not equivalent if one is held at an insured bank and the other at a payment firm that safeguards funds without deposit insurance.
How we chose
Wallcrest shortlists are built from published, verifiable provider documentation and regulatory registers. We do not accept payment for placement or ranking.
- Published rate and its conditions
- The headline rate, any balance tiers, and whether a bonus expires.
- Deposit protection
- The licensed institution holding the money, and the applicable scheme and limit.
- Access
- Instant access, notice period or fixed term, plus any withdrawal caps.
- Balance requirements
- Minimum to open and minimum to earn the advertised rate.
- Rate history behaviour
- Whether the provider has a pattern of cutting rates quietly after acquiring balances.
Comparison of options
These are the attributes we publish for every provider in this category, and exactly how each is defined.
| Attribute | What we verify | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Published rate (APY / AER) | Rate as published by the institution on the verification date. | Verification in progress |
| Deposit protection | Scheme and limit, and the licensed institution holding the deposit. | Verification in progress |
| Minimum balance | Minimum required to open and to earn the headline rate. | Verification in progress |
| Access terms | Notice period, withdrawal limits and any bonus expiry. | Verification in progress |
We're finalising our verified provider data for this category. Wallcrest publishes fees, rates, minimums and terms only after checking them against the provider's own documentation and recording the date we checked. Rather than show unverified figures, we leave this table empty until that work is complete.
“Visit site” buttons are placeholders until commercial relationships exist and are disclosed. No provider has paid for inclusion here, because there is nothing to pay for yet.

What to weigh before you choose
- Check the licence, not the brand
- Several brands can share one banking licence, and protection limits apply per licensed institution.
- Set a review date
- Introductory rates expire. A calendar reminder is worth more than a comparison table.
