How We Review

The process behind Wallcrest money guides, comparisons and reviews.

Last updated: 11 August 2026

Verification before publication

Every product data point we publish — a fee, a rate, a minimum, a coverage limit — must be traceable to the provider's own published documentation or a regulatory register, and is stored with the URL and the date we checked it. Where a data point is not verified, we publish nothing in its place and say so.

How shortlists are built

  • We define and publish the criteria before assessing providers.
  • Regulatory standing and client-asset protection are assessed first; a provider failing here is excluded regardless of price.
  • Costs are compared on a total basis, not on headline commission alone.
  • Availability is assessed by region, because entity and protections differ by market.

Scoring

Wallcrest does not publish numeric editor's scores or star ratings unless they are the output of a documented, repeatable assessment we can describe in full. We would rather publish reasoning than an unexplained number.

Commercial separation

Commercial relationships play no part in whether a provider is included, how it is described or where it appears. Our research desk works from the published criteria only, and no provider sees a review before publication other than for factual right of reply.
